She designed and maintains the laboratory information management system (MacLIMS) - tracking samples through receipt, processing, and reporting.  In addition, Marcia serves as Third Rock's Field and Laboratory Services Coordinator.  She reviews project requirements related to field operations and analytical testing, coordinates field staff, prepares collection kits and documentation packages, facilitates sub-contract laboratory scheduling, receives/processes samples and reviews analytical data.  Marcia also provides several administrative tasks for Third Rock.  Marcia's career has been exclusively in the evironmental engineering and consulting industry.  She has exceptional leadership, management, business development, client service, and project management skills.

He has worked directly with numerous state agencies as well as the US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Forest Service, and US Army Corps of Engineers. In addition to macroinvertebrate taxonomy, Bert also conducts stream sampling for aquatic macroinvertebrates, fish, plankton, and freshwater mussels. He is experienced in the identification and ecology of aquatic macroinvertebrates and fish of the region, conducting surveys in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Bert has Taxonomic Certification for Eastern Groups 2 (EPT) and 3 (Chironomidae) from North American Benthological Society. He also maintains Macroinvertebrate Assesment Certification for Invertebrate Community Index (ICI) with the Ohio EPA. Bert has also conducted hundreds of biological assessment for threatened and endangered species in Kentucky and Tennessee including numerous bat and mussel species. As a PADI certified open water diver and part of Third Rock's dive team, he has led several large mussel survey projects for Third Rock.

He has years of experience monitoring and surveying avian populations (especially neo-tropical migrants). In Alabama, Chelsey engaged in a mist net survey to track population demographics of neotropical warblers and monitor the spread of West Nile Virus. In 2004, he conducted a master's thesis on the reproductive success and distribution of the Loggerhead Shrike (Lanius ludovicianus) in Kentucky. Chelsey also plays a vital role in our aquatic ecology department. He is responsible for macroinvertebrate identification, as well as stream sampling for aquatic macroinvertebrates, fish, and freshwater mussels. Chelssea has Taxonomic Certification for Eastern Group 2 (EPT) from the North American Benthological Society. During the summer of 2005 Chelsey played a key role in the relocation of over 40,000 mussels (28 species). His knowledge of freshwater mussels and aquatic ecology make him an invaluable member of the freshwater mussel survey team. Additionally, Chelsey's familiarity with Geographic Information Systems enable him to more effectively analyze biological data.

   
 

Brenda McGregor is a Biologist for Third Rock.  Her interests are primarily aquatic biology, malacology, and aquatic entomology.  She is skilled in the identification of aquatic organisms (aquatic invertebrates).  Brenda is knowledgeable in several methods of mussel and benthic sampling, fish and crayfish sampling (seines, shockers, and nets) and water quality.

Her primary role at Third rock is performing taxonomic sorting and identifications for all groups of aquatic macroinvertebrates. Tammie assists the laboratory manager in the day-to-day operations of the macroinvertebrate laboratory and trains/oversees the sorting technicians and performs associated sorting quality control checks. Tammie also manages Third Rock's Bacteriological Laboratory.  She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the laboratory, including training laboratory technicians, coordinating sample analysis, and aquisition of supplies and materials.  In addition to performing sample analysis for E. coli and total coliform, she also performs all associated quality controls, sample receiving, and report generation.

Virginia Goodman (31 years experience) is an Environmental Analyst with an emphasis on socioeconomic issues. In addition to administering Third Rock projects, Virginia writes environmental assessments and impact statements and conducts socioeconomic analyses to fulfill NEPA requirements for transportation and other federally-funded projects. She was actively involved in the development of Kentucky's first proactively initiated Community Impact Assessment and drafted the Environmental Impact Statement for a high profile project, a draft of which was approved in late 2005. Virginia successfully negotiated Third Rock's federal supply schedule for environmental services (Schedule 899) with the US General Service Administration.
