RAILL - Restoration Action Initiative in the Little Laurel

As of February 1, 2008 team RAILL has hit the ground running with remediation strategies in the Little Laurel River watershed. Using the results of our Watershed Based Plan, we will be focusing our efforts to improve water quality on this urban tributary to the Corbin City Reservoir.

Our initial project team meeting is scheduled for Feb 28th at 6:00pm in the Laurel County Court House Community Room. Topics for the meeting include a discussion of planned action items as well as a presentation on rain gardens and low-impact design by Russ Turpin from Ecogro.

Action items for RAILL include:

• Stream and wetland restoration on the tributaries of the Little Laurel River
• Revising stormwater management plans for the City of London
• Rain Garden design and construction in and around London
