Defining what Third Rock Consultants “is” is not nearly as easy as describing what it “is not.” Since its inception in 2000, Third Rock’s owner Molly Foree Davis has carefully assembled a diverse group of environmental thinkers – thinkers that cannot easily be categorized. We are no more a civil engineering firm than we are an environmental laboratory or an architectural firm. It is our approach, and not our disciplines, that defines who we are as professionals and likewise what our collaborative “is.”
Third Rock is comprised of a group of unbelievably smart, creative, and intuitive people who also happen to be incredible men and women. Loyalty, integrity, and work ethic are rewarded in a work environment where there are no supervisors, coordinators, or managers. This composition of thinkers comes together to comprise what can most accurately be described as an integrative, environmental collaborative with expertise in the areas of integrative environmental planning, analysis, design, and construction.
What makes us different? Our unique and effective collaborative of environmental disciplines and experience. Our belief that the best solutions are not simply applied to the sites with which we work, but rather generated through rigorous observation and thoughtful, calculated response. Our recognition that every single project is unique and thus requires a distinct approach and consideration by a specialized cross-section of professionals and skills. Our application of design build techniques to construct green infrastructure that actually functions and can be maintained.
